Adulthood (in bucket list form)

I'm in what my dad refers to as the "transition" phase of life, i.e. moving out, attending university, living in the dorms, making new friends, finding balance between studying and partying, and desperately avoiding the freshmen 15.
In the transition, I've been thinking a lot about adulthood and what it means to be one. Yes, I am 18, legally an adult, but I'm not a real one. Mommy still buys my groceries. I have yet to master the art of maintaining an always neat dorm room or washing dishes within the day that they've been dirtied. (not suggested) Because I'm not an adult, I've complied a short list of events that will signify when I reach adulthood. Sort of an Adulthood Bucket list

  1. I Buy a Crockpot. No judging but I've always felt like if I have crockpot then I could go to potlucks and that seems like a grown up thing to do.
  2. I Finally Understand How a Mortgage Works. ...
  3. Fruity Pebbles No Longer Tastes Like Magic, But Diabetes. What flavor am I eating? No clue it all just tastes like rainbows and sugar to me.
  4. I Develop a Taste For Vodka Martinis. Highly unlikely because I hate olives, but when I picture a "Sophisticated Woman," I picture a stylish lady with a headscarf, oversized sunglasses and a vodka martini.
  5. I Stop Impulse Buying the Sample Products in the Sephora Checkout Line. Those tricky little bastards get me every. Damn. Time.
